This is the layout I have created. I used information from my double page comparison to make this while using common conventions.
I chose this as my main photo on my double page spread because it was the best focused photo I took with direct address. It is a long shot which is common for a double page main photo.
I removed the wall background because it looked to dark and I wanted to change it to white. I did this by using the background eraser tool.
I added a layer under the original image layer. Then I used the fill tool to make it white.
I started my double page spread by changing the background colour to match the blue background on the rest of my magazine. Then I added the coordinating title from my from my front cover. The photo I just edited was also added to the left hand side of the page.
Since I did this for the other photos in my magazine and want to keep continuity, I added a blue border to my photo.
More text was added including a large quote to draw the readers attention. It gives just enough information for the reader to want to find out more.
I created my own emoticon using the shape tool. I thought this would be a good addition to my magazine because they are very popular with a young audience.
Using the cookie cutter tool on Photoshop, I cut out the model with a funky shape. This shape will draw more attention than just a circle.

I added a pink border tot he image. Although pink isn't usually used with boys, I used it to represent love.
The image that was just edited was added to my double page spread. This image will be used to break up the text so it doesn't get 'boring' for the young audience.
I added the article text, using different colours to differentiate between the two people talking.
